PUB SPORT NEWS
After the seasonal break, the pool league resumed on Friday with a home match....Or rather it didn't. The oposition phoned 15 minutes after the start time to say they couldn't make it due to illness.
After 3 darts defeats on the run, we beat Taverners last Thursday and they were top of the league.
Thursday we go to Dinan in the 3rd round of the cup.
Al is hoping to play better after a dip in form.
Saying that, an 8 dart 301 two games ago was quite good!

RENNES BROCATE (Market)
Last week after finishing the house clearance, it was decided to take some stuff up to Rennes flea market and sell it, along with some excess stuff from home.
Andy and Al got on the road at 5-30am to set up for the 8am start. The driving conditions were treacherous with driving winds and rain.
The cost of the pitch at the market was 27euros.
Some of the stalls were really impressive selling 5000 euro wooden antiques or 3000 euro bronze statues. All in all tho everyone was friendly and the 10 hours that the market went on for seemed to pass quickly.
A BIT WET
The storms in France have been all over the news these past few days. Winds of 90mph and torrential rain.
The stream at the end of the lane has found it difficult to cope and has almost turned into a river.
Puppies love running around trees.
2 puppies running round tree after flood = mud bath.
Bella survey's the damage!

NEW JOB.
The credit crunch bites a bit. We have lost about 35% of our income in the past year. Only one thing for it and that is to get a job for a while.
Thanks to a contact Al and his English mate Andy have a job doing house clearances.
This week we have worked in Broons clearing out a 5 bedroomed farmhouse that had been used for schoolchildrens studies. The house is run by the local authority.
It's now on sale for about £25,000.
Good news is that the local authority have taken us on for 2 months work clearing out a 40 bedroom hospital in Rennes starting in February. Hotel and food for the week included.
There were a few outbuildings to clear also
We salvaged the metal and earnt a bit on that too.Monday, 5 January 2009

OUT FOR A MEAL
On Sunday 28th we went to Andy's (Who Al sometimes work with) and his French wife Sophie.
It was their son Sebastian's 10th birthday party.
Roast lamb and a Tarte tatin was really good.
Tomorrow being Marie's birthday, she put 44 candles on to the Tarte tatin. All fire brigade leave had been cancelled incase!
LOTS TO CATCH UP ON.
Lots to add to the blog over the next couple of days.
Xmas and New Year have been fun, so this site has been neglected a bit.
Starting with Xmas day. John came to lunch , where we had Turkey/Beef and all the trimmings, including a xmas pudding from selfridges.
Then in the evening, the Brits and our Russian friends went to Bruno's bar for an evening of games (pool/darts) All in all, good fun.
We can't ever remember being in a pub on Xmas night before.
Nice to have a Dasha at Xmas..Rudolph /Prancer and the rest of the gang were outside!
