THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE !!!!
We spotted an advert on an English speaking website for ex pats who live in Brittany.
"Painters required urgently for big project"
So Andy phones this guy up called Jeff who originally comes from Watford and actually worked on the NATO base a few years back.
We arrive at St Briac Sur Mer to find this huge house with large gardens overlooking the see.
Jeff appears and shows us round the job which is for the ground floor to be completely painted by 10th May.
Now here is the history of the place. Churchill used to take summer holidays there as a youngster. In the second world war when the Germans came it was taken over by the commndant and used as area HQ for 4 years till the English came and turfed them out.
But here is the real killer.
The house is owned by former United States president nominee John Kerry, as it was bought by his Grandfather in the 1920's

FRESH FROM THE SEA
Wrong. Get down to Cap Frehel at low tide and help yourself to the millions of free mussels on the rocks.
White wine, garlic, onion, crusty bread.
LOVELY!

MORE SAD NEWS

BELLA STILL FINE
Still a big worry as parvovirus has a 7-14 day incubation period, but Bella is on top form at the moment. She is missing Kip still and continues to bark for him when in the garden.
She needs a playmate, but we will have to wait for the all clear before that happens.
Thanks to all the well wishers who posted on the blog.
Your thoughts are of great comfort.
Some cheery pictures and news will appear on the blog in the next few days.

GOOD NEWS AT LAST
Bella is home from the vets. It seems she had nothing worse than a severe stomach bug.
However we have to be vigilant. Parvo virus has a 14 day incubation period, so we will be treating her with kid gloves for a while.

BELLA AT THE VETS
Bella has been kept in by the vet overnight as she has got severe diarrhoea.
Although not quite the same symptoms as Kip we are extremely worried by this turn of events.
Having phoned the vet this morning, it seems she is a tiny bit better.
