LA GALINEE CAMPSITE

The Cartwright family were staying in their caravan at the Galinee site just 3 miles from St Potan.
On Wednesday we went up for the evening, had a few more beers and a great meal. Probably the best Ben has ever cooked!

Then it was boys against girls at "Uckers" which ended in an honourable draw as we ran out of time before the taxi came.

BELLA AND MAX

Bella got on really well with Max.
TART!

EXTRA COLLIE'S

Ben and Anne came over with the two dogs as well. Bella and Arthur got on so famously with Max and Homer that we have formed a dog football team.
Homer is at the front, followed by Max, and Bella as sweeper!
Arthur is in the background and not invited to join "Collie's FC"

THE CARTWRIGHTS.

Absolutly brilliant.
Not seen Ben Cartwright since 1992 on HMS Invincible. He was a crap chef, and I was like Gordon Ramsey to him!
Ok..Cut the crap. Ben, Anne, & kids, Daisy, Iona, & Chris are staying less than 3 miles away near Matignon.
We had a beer in the village on Tuesday, but Sunday night we had a real get together, and it was superb.

SATURDAY PUB NIGHT

A bit of a strange night in the local bar on Saturday.
Bruno was giving away all the promotional stuff from the Pastis company!
Daniel & Marylene who live in Ruca nearby had a great time as we celebrated Elvis Presley's 32 anniversary of his passing.
I am sure we will all be doing the same for Michael Jackson in 32 years time.

Al is now a male model!

ST POTAN-THE NEW SEASON

The new football season is just 3 weeks away.
St Potan were relegated last season to Brittany League 1. A lot of the better players have left.
Fortunatly, due to a recruitment drive we have managed to sign one new player for next season.
Unfortunatly, he is rather large and the team strip does not fit him.
He bought his own shirt and had the name BLOT on the back. So you can guess his nickname!
Look on the bright side. If we concide a free kick near the box...we will only need one man in the wall.

A BIG BLOG CATCH UP

A brief visit by John, Karen, & daughter Madeline happened on Friday morning. They have a place down towards Bordeaux and stopped off for a coffee before heading down south.
Karen was incharge of Marie during their Navy days.
Nice to know somebody was!
John worked with Al in the MGS for a few years.
It was great to catch up!

BABY SITTING.

Our friends have gone on holiday for 3 weeks. So we have been tasked with looking after 10 week old kitten "Domino"
He has his own bedroom at the back to get sanctuary from the dogs.

I never knew cats like dog chews!

The dogs ball went missing for a bit.-
Bella shows a motherly instinct.
The old joke..My cats only got one eye!

BIKING

The last two riders in the Tour de France cross the finishing line.
Both failed the dope test!

Another thing we did this weekend was go to the Hotel de la Poste in Matignon for lunch. 4 courses with wine was just 65 euros for four of us. Unfortunately Serge who runs the bar pressed the wrong numbers when we went to pay on the card, so we got a bill for 965 euros. They had no cancellation button on the machine so they had to go to the safe and pull us out 900 euros to put in our bank.
On monday we went to the Augerge restaurant in the village and had another great lunch. This time we had 2 bottles of Chablis as we thought it was on offer....WRONG..35 quid a bottle!

MOULES FRITTES NIGHT

One of the best nights of the village year is the Moules night. Half the village go up to the lake and eat their way through 400kg of mussels.
Then their was a disco till 3 am.
A brilliant evening.

Fat boy tucks in to his first kilo of mussels!

Paul & Katy can put it away a bit as well.

Our table tucking in!

KATY AND PAUL ARRIVE

Katy and Paul are over for a few days so we had a BBQ on Friday evening and drank the fridge dry!
Guess who fell asleep outside!

Mrs BEATON

Plenty of time on our hands so Marie made a pretty good cake with the strawberries from the garden.

AROUND THE VILLAGE

Had our serious dog walking heads on last week. A quick 5 miles doing the village rounds.

The watering hole at the end of a long walk.

The dogs were pretty knackered.
