DIGGING DOGS

It must be the mouse mating season as Arthur is now digging for Australia everytime he hears something underground in the field.

And now he has taught Bella the tricks of the digging trade.
The left the field looking like the Somme after an hour.

DARTS LATEST

The 2nd half of the season has started, and
after a 12-7 win against Dol we sit in 4th place in national Division 3.
A slim chance of making the top two but also pretty safe from relegation.
Pictured is John warming up before the game last Thursday.

A DAMN FINE WEEKEND.

What a brilliant weekend.
My brother and Nikki, along with ex shipmate Colin Williams and his wife Judy.
I haven't seen Colin for about 7 years, so the weekend was abound with old sea stories, and plenty of drink.
The picture is of Colin, Judy, and Nikki, taken on a bracing windy lunchtime at Point a la Gard,
A really cracking weekend.

AFC BOURNEMOUTH

Now I don't use this blog normally to "gob off' about football.
But something has really pi55ed me off this past week.
Is Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe going to leave?
This man is a future Premiership and England manager for sure.
Well, last week he said he was staying, and then 2 days later he changes his mind and moves to Burnley.
Burnley? Burnley?
I've been there. Only the once mind.
Caught ricketts, diphtheria, and got tapeworm off a dodgy hotpot.
Enough said.

Still, at least our dodgy chairman can roll in the compensation money!

APPLIANCE CATASTROPHE

First 2 weeks of 2001 and it seems we are in for the "Year of Electrical Trouble"
First the Microwave decides to go on a life support machine and stop turning.
Not to much of problem in all honesty, but then this week the Sky TV signal went.
No TV?
A disaster for Marie who depends on programmes like Jeremy Kyle, and Bargain Hunt to get her through the day.
No amount of re-aligning the dish would work.
Then as a last resort we remembered that we had a spare Sky Box in the cupboard, and thankfully that worked.
Normal service resumed.

Then as it comes in threes, the cooker died a death from old age.
Delivery of a new one was strangely quick for France.

A QUIET START TO THE NEW YEAR

The Xmas festivities are now a memory, and now we come to the really quiet part of the year.
Temperatures have warmed up a bit after the snow we had last month, so soon the garden will be rotorvated again and preparations for seeds will be happening.
Marie has a good sized propagator for growing seeds so we expect even more success this year.

Darts has resumed and we got beat 14-5 last Thursday by Dinan. Al didn't play as it was his turn to miss a match.

Excitement this month when Al's brother Tony and his wife the dangerous Nikki arrive, and on the same the day Colin & Judy Williams arrive.
The local landlord has been forewarned.

Pictured below is the early part of the partial eclipse of the sun last week which was viewed from the garden
