LEARN FRENCH WITH AL AND MARIE

LESSON 25.

As there is an election in France shortly, I thought I would add this handy phrase for you all who like to talk politics on your visit to France.

ENGLISH: Once Sarkozy loses the election, Carla will be leaving him for someone more famous. This time she will not marry a dwarf.

FRENCH: Une fois que Sarkozy perd l'élection, Carla le laissera pour quelqu'un plus célèbre. Cette fois elle n'épousera pas un nain.

SATURDAY NIGHT OUT

We had a smashing night at Bill and Sharon's in Pleboule last night.
Excellent food, lots of wine , and much laughter.
Much appreciated guy's!

Sadly I forgot to take the camera, so in the meantime, there will be a short interlude, and here is the BBC test card!

Note to self........ Take the bloody camera you muppet!

IS IT SPRING?

Very bright and sunny this morning, and a feel of early spring, although we are bound to have another cold snap!
Good day for a dog walk in the big fields by the next hamlet.

What you may see is a medium sized ball for the dogs, but in "dog world", this is infact the "Orb of Superiority".
The holder is chased until the other dog gets control. Then the game is reversed.
This goes on for about 5 kilometers.

CLASSIC FRENCH COOKING

I was walking round the supermarket this morning, wondering what to have for tea, and there was boiling beef on the bone on special offer.
Having not made the classic French dish Pot au Feu before, now seemed to be the day to try it.
And success! A delicious hot casserole with plenty left over for a soup tomorrow.

This is not quite the recipe I used, as usual I have added extra items like swede, garlic, and rosemary.

MORE LUNCH PICTURES

A warning to all our visitors this year, we will be going here at some stage!

RNA LUNCH - PLELAN

A delicious lunch was held for 31 members at Plelan le Petit today.
4 fine courses with wine, good conversation and great ambiance made it a great day.
Plus we won a goodie bag in the raffle! Always a bonus that.
Thanks to all who organised the event.

SUNDAY DRIVE

Although it is now bloody freezing, Al decided to go and have a scoot round on the bike and go and do some fishing.
Henanbihen first for a look round, and then at Port de la Duc for the fishing. Unfortunately on the fishing reel is only 250 meters of line and the tide was 2KM's out. OOOPS!

GALETTE DE ROIS

We were invited up to the bar on Saturday for a Galette de Rois by Bruno and Marylene. These frangipane pies are available all over France in january and are traditionally eaten as part of a new year welcome.

DARTS DISASTER

Beaten in the 7th round of the coupe de France by Val Andre, a team in a division below us. It has been us dishing out the shocks in the past 3 years, even reaching the final 16 of all France 2 years ago. I was quite awful, only winning 2 of my 7 matches, as we went down 10-9. Good luck to Val Andre in the next round

A CHEEKY WINE

After finding tourettes wine, this was pointed out by an anonymous poster. It is now my hobby to find these bizzare labels and get a collection.
