FIRST EVENT OF THE YEAR

Saturday night was the first event of the social year when the St Potan football club hosted a "Saucisse Rougaille" evening
Very tasty too. Sausages in a slightly piquant sauce, a starter, and dessert, with wine included. Damn good for 12 euros a head.
Sadly these events are followed by a naff disco with the same old euro pop trash.

MORE TOP COOKING

Let me introduce you to a cut of meat called Reine du Porc.
Translated as Queen of Pork
Basically this is a very thick pork chop (about 3 chops thickness) which when roasted with a bit of seasoning and provence herbs is delicious.
Served with goulash of vegetables, once again another fine feast!

BYE KITTY

Kaz came over with her brother Neil to pick up Simba the cat this weekend.
We are chuffed that the little fella has got a new home, and even better we can follow his progress.
He has a passport and am sure he will come back for a holiday at some stage.
The dogs are safe again!

ONE WEEK LEFT WITH SIMBA

Kaz comes out next Friday to pick up Simba.
This fella is so trusting and loving in humans, and although we will be sad to see him go, we know that he is going to a loving home, he will be missed.
At least we can follow his progress and keep in contact.

WHY I LOVE FRANCE

It was on a visit to the supermarket in Plancoet that I found out the reason why we love our life out here.
Buy one box of wine, get one free.
6 litres of lush Muscadet for about 8 euros.
That is £6-70 in UK money.
If you are coming over and want us to buy a stock for you, just send an e-mail.
This is a smooth quaffing wine with gentle undertones of General De Gaulle's armpit and Gerard Depardieu's jock strap.
Bloody good value.

EARLY SPRING?

Despite very wet weather and the lack of sun, this is the earliest we can remember the blossom on the cherry tree coming out.
Must mean we are in for a cracking summer!!!!!

FRIDAY NIGHT ROAST

Friday night we were invited round to John 7 Chrissie's for a fine evening of roast pork, much cheese, desserts and plenty of vina.
Bill and Sue came along with Mikhail, who is in the very lucky position of not having his wife home for 2 months as she has gone to South Africa to see her son, and then back to London in March for the birth of their daughters first child.
Mikhail is not asleep in this picture, just wasted!!!!

WELL! BLOW ME!

This was a shock this evening. A picture from my past taken In New York in July 1986.
I was on the Ark Royal at the time and this was one of the best runs ashore I had in the Navy.
Picture was taken near the Twin Towers and from left to right:
Tony Koga, Rattler Morgan, and Myself, all chefs who liked a run ashore!
Happy Days!

WHAT SEX?

Now!. The great news is that Inca, now called Simba, will have a new home in Fareham, UK, very soon.
We took the kitty to the vets for it's injections, microchipping last week, and she now has a passport.
Wait! DID I SAY SHE?

Turns out that she is a he!

We really thought this was a female cat, but as the vet said, it was a simple mistake to make as when we found HIM, he was malnourished and the testicles were not visible.

Having travelled around the world with the Navy, this is a simple mistake to make, as I found out in Singapore, The Phillipines, and Malaysia.
At no stage did I get confused!!!
But sometimes, life is difficult!

CURRY CLUB

The Gard Manoir held a Curry evening yesterday.
We invited Bill, Sue, Joanne, Dave, Mikhail, John and Chrissy.

Onion Bhajis
Chicken & Roasted Garlic Curry,
Chicken Tikka Massala,
Vegetable Koftas
Gobi Aloo.
Followed by many desserts, much wine and whisky!

Another fine evening in France
