50th ANNIVERSARY OF St POTAN FC

The village celebrated the 50th year of the football team
with a squad game, then a veterans match

Of course the bar was open and a good
200 or so turned up to watch.

Then there was a meal down the lake
catered for by the Auberge du Manoir,
which was by far and away the best
we have ever had down the lake.

310 for the meal, followed by a late night
disco.
Memorable evening.

SET FOR SUMMER

Have left the marquee up after the Navy
curry event here, so decided to put
a TV in and the Mag Box which gives me all
the sport, all the latest movies, and more.

A great summer of Euro football awaits.
If you are close by...come on down.

CHEFS REUNION 2016

130 of the Navy's finest met up in
Birmingham last weekend for the 5th
annual reunion.

After a Friday pub crawl, the main event was
at HMS Foreward on the Saturday.

Great weekend. Great people.
See you next year.

PRE CHEFS REUNION

As is now tradition,
I go for a couple of days to
stay with Chrissy and Eammon in Leicester.
Nice to go out for a curry, and then have
a few beers in the city centre.

Leicester won the Premier League
if you hadn't heard.
Tho they didn't beat Bournemouth.

VICTORY IN EUROPE DAY

We turned up as usual for the simple ceremony
to celebrate VE day.

Laying of flowers, a short speech from the mayor,
then a few vin d'honneurs in the Salle de Fetes

SUMMER ARRIVES

A glorious weekend with temperatures in the 70's
At last a chance to sit outside with a cold vino.

Sunday dog walk was a pleasure as everything
is now in bloom.
Also saw 2 hares, and a brace of pheasants
that had survived the hunting season.

BACK TO WATCH THE CHERRIES

Went to the fantastic city of Liverpool last weekend
to watch the mighty AFCB take on Everton
Graeme Lloyd sorted the tickets out, and on
arrival at Lime Street, I caught up with
ex Navy chefs Andy Cooke and Touche Hodgson as well.

Of course many pubs were visited pre match.

I am in with the Everton supporters. and was soon
sussed out, but great banter all afternoon.

Lloydy needed a pie to soak up the beer.

All in the ground paid their respects to the
96 who had been vindicated this week,

96 seconds of applause pre match.

Anyway, AFCB lost 2-1 in a pretty average match,
and I had to wear the "Loser's Hat"
