BASTILLE DAY CAR BOOT

We got to the car boot at St Lormel every 14th July.
Hundreds of stalls selling all sorts of tat.

First bought the Navy looking Anchor beer glasses,
origin Alsace.

Then I saw these 2 Artillery shell cases from WW1
Couldn't believe it when she said 5 euros the pair.

Anyway, got them home and did some research
on the case markings.
Turns out they were both made at Woolwich Arsenal in 1917,
and marked for shipping out to the front that year.
They will be 100 years old next year, so
am well chuffed with the purchase.

DAY IN DINAN

Had Friday in Dinan.
Good old bimble round the old streets.

Never get bored of Dinan, that's why
we always take visitors there.

Stopped for a drink...THEN!...

She had to buy the bleedin dress on the
left outside the shop, for the best part
of 75 euros.

Tempered my anger with a decent lunch at
the Atypic. Skewers of meat and
a mountain of chips.
8/10 rating.

DO AT THE LAKE

Lesley is over for a couple of weeks,
and we have had a few nice meals out.

Sunday was a bit more basic, with a village
meal down at the lake.
Nothing like the smell of roasting ham
over an oak wood fire.

Around 150 turned up on a damp afternoon,
with a well supported cash bar.
