MY PLUMS HAVE DROPPED

Hell. Have never seen so many plums

on the 7 trees in the garden.

And all good quality too.

Don't eat a lot of jam, so hoisin sauce is the way.

Just brush on meat in the last 2 minutes of

grilling...just brilliant.

10 kg of plums went in to 5 jars.

Very intense flavour.

EVEN MORE VISITORS

This time Marie's sister Liz, niece Aileen, 

husband Dean, and daughter Poppy.

Owing to work I only had one day off,

so we went up to Dinard for a day on the beach,

or day in the pub as I called it.

THE SMITH'S ANNUAL VISIT

Chrissy and Eammon came over for 10 days

and we had a few trips out for lunch.

Firstly to Dinan for a reasonable lunch at

The Atypic. Skewers are great but

everything else is a bit greasy.

Still, at around 18 euros for the main course,

fairly good value.

Then a trip to Erquy, where we haven't been

for about 3 years. 

Glorious afternoon sat in the sun, and 

a decent 3 course lunch for 28 euros.

Had a soused mackerel with pickled leek

starter, which mas excellent.

Then the full works Paella. Also great.

A stroll along the prom to work it off.

A great afternoon.

1st TIME VISIT

Have passed La Fermette on the Matignon - St Cast road 

almost everyday on the way to work, but had not

been in till Friday.

A place for special occasions I think.

Not much change out of 40 euros for

a main course.

But it was truly excellent.

I had the fillet of beef and Marie the duck.

Will go again very soon.
