PORK PIE - PROPER GRUB

Now I am retired again, there is more

time to get back in the kitchen and

make stuff that I have missed.

For a friend's birthday, have made..

Pork and Grain Mustard Pies with caramelised onion,

and Pork and Cranberry Pies.

Next week...

Curry making week.

STILL BLOODY COLD.

The cold spell has really peaked this weekend.

Minus 12 on Friday night and minus 9

Saturday night.

It has broken above freezing for 3 days now.

Saturday we woke up to no water.

Obviously a frozen pipe.

After a search outside we realised

that one small area of the water

inlet pipe was not lagged.

A bit of gentle heating with a

hairdryer over the pipe sorted

the problem.

Meanwhile, no matter how cold...

It's dog walks at 0900.

Thank the Lord for thermal socks.

COLD AS ICE

A right old cold spell is happening

right now. Freezing nights with

temperatures not getting much

above freezing in the day.

Dog walks start about 0915,

so the toes have had a good

freezing each day.

And frozen hooves..

and paws.

NEW YEARS EVE SWIM

11am New Years Eve.

250 turned up for the last dip in the sea

of the year.

4 degrees below outside,

luckily the water was a warm 7 degrees.

St Cast beach started with a warm up..

...then they just ran in to the sea.

Some staying in for 30 minutes
