KIPPY DIDN'T MAKE IT

Another sad day.
Kip died last night a very horrible death.
No posts for a bit as we are inconsolable to lose a well trained friend who we loved dearly.
Thanks for your e-mails and phone calls.

KIP VERY ILL

Our friends dog Jack has been in the vets for a week with a virus. Of course our two play with Jack all the time and yesterday Kip was taken really ill at night.
He has been rushed to the vets first thing this morning and he has parvo virus.
Thanks to some tight git not getting their dog inocculated we are on a knife edge seeing if he survives.
Picture was taken this morning just as Kip was going to the vets. Bella is a bit lost right now, and we are hoping she hasn't contacted it either.

AL's BIRTHDAY

A quieter than normal birthday. Firstly I went to watch the village get thrashed 5-1 at home to local rivals Pluduno, then just to the village bar for a few beers.
The events in the above post explains why it was quiet.

VISITORS.

Mother and Bob came out and stayed in St Malo and we met up for a couple of lunches out in the village and Pludono.
Unfortunatly we forgot to take the camera.
So apologies all round.
In the meantime we will have some music and the test card until normal service is resumed.

I THINK WE ARE ACCEPTED HERE!

Even tho' the pub in the village is shut for the week, we were lucky enough to get an invitation for a meal on Sunday evening.
The table was set up in the bar and we had a great night with friends.
Bruno made a giant pot of couscous which was superb and we drank half the bar dry .
David and his girlfriend Marie-Helene are moving to Normandy next week which is sad for us but a great for them as David has got a new job with a plumbing company.
They will be back to visit often.
Bruno dishes up.

Entente Cordiale at it's best
A great night!

BIG DEFEAT

A big 4-0 defeat at Dinan-Lehon pushed the village side into the bottom half of the table. One bright spot was Jeremy our goalkeeper pulling off a fantastic penalty save.

A VERY LONG WALK

Friday we took a long walk out past the lake with the dogs. Natasha bought Jack along and as usual there was mayhem.

AN UNUSUAL SIGHT

Al decided to try his knee out after injury today and cycled to Matignon.
A very unusual sight on the way was to see a field of entirely pure white cows.
Something that the PC brigade would certainly ban in the UK as it is clearly racist!

FINE WEATHER CONTINUES.

Weather has been scorching so far this week.
Firstly we have been starting to plant this years crop, (more pictures later), but also enjoying a glass of wine outside for the first time this year.
The dog baskets have been out too, and the dogs have enjoyed basking in the sun.

Bella's turn.

ANOTHER LOCAL FOOTBALL SUNDAY

St Potan 1 Andel 1.

A nice war m afternoon in the village, so a few of us went up to watch the football. Bit of a nothing season for St Potan. Half way in the league and a lot of in and out performances.

DARTS WIN AGAIN.

Another 10-9 win at darts on Thursday in the league.

There is now a battered old trophy for the worst player of the night.

This weeks winner..BRUNO!

DOGS GO TO FREHEL

Saturday afternoon was glorious. So the dogs had a trip out to Cap Frehel beach.
Something about the sand there that sticks to fur!
What a state these two got into!

A GOOD WIN AT POOL

The pool season has been a bit in and out after a good start and we sit 4th in the table.
A good 8-2 win at the Blues Cafe in Plorec on Friday night was probably our best performance of the season.
Al won his 13th straight match to have an individual score of 14-2.
Always something surprising in France
John's second match was against Rick Parfitt of Status Quo!

Honest..It is Rick..Ok he was a bit worse for wear and had to hold a railing to stand up.
Also he is pretty crap at pool!

SENSATION IN THE DARTS.

The task seemed impossible and we thought we were just turning up to complete the fixture. Somehow our tiny village darts team have knocked national league Trelivan out of the Coupe de France.
A 2-0 lead was taken early on but the expected drubbing seemed to be happening when the visitors clawed it back to 2-5 then 4-7.
But we won 5 on the trot to make it 9-7. Then despite Al losing the next singles, he and John won the next doubles match to take the tie, making the last leg a dead rubber.
10-9.
Sometimes miracles do happen!

After match celebration. Who is the most pissed?
Bobere, Al, Andy, John.

JARRET FRITTES NIGHT

Saturday night was Jarret night in the village hall, run by the local football team.
Jarret being a rather large ham hock each served with fries and loads of wine included in the price.
The British/Russian table boasted a full house from the village and all in all 120 enjoyed a good night with dancing till 3am.

Mikhail, John and Chrissy get stuck in.

A couple of local charachters ( and regular bar users) Jean and Monique

OTHER NEWS

Quarter final of the darts next Thursday and we have drawn Trelivan who are in the National Elite leagues.
Thats the end of that cup run then.
This really is Bournemouth against Real Madrid.
Al has picked up a freak injury at work on his right knee (Thats the good one normally) It's really swollen up and he has a doctors visit tomorrow.

DOWN TO THE BEACH

Friday we went down to Quatre Vaux beach with John to exercise the dogs. The place was our own on a warmish afternoon

The normal game of football.

The new game of Tennis Ball.

Bella taught John how to fetch!
