WHO MISSES INDIAN FOOD?

Not us!
The greatest ever Navy Chef has once again produced Naan Breads that would shame a Bombay (now Mumbai) brothel keeper.
EXCELLENT GRUB!

WE DID IT!

We beat Jurgon 10-9
We are promoted to the national league.
Appearance money, expenses, and live TV games.
The whole team have done us proud.
The smallest village ever to qualify for the national league.
Well played my fellow team members, John, Bebert, & Andy
I'm off to bed tonight, proud as punch!

IT'S THE BIG ONE

The final practice before the big match against Jurgon tonight (Thurs 18th)
Winners will become Brittany champions for sure and promotion to the National League which is semi-professional darts.
Both sides have qualified for the Champions League at Laval on 22nd May

FIRST OUTSIDE DRINK

It was warm enough on Tuesday 16th March to have our first drink outside of the season.
Taken at 6pm on a glorious spring day.

BOURNEMOUTH ON TV

Now it's not very often that Bournemouth are on TV.
Monday night we were on SKY against Notts County, so with a bit of knowledge that gets us all live football free, I was able to watch the mighty Cherries get a last minute draw.
Al cheered so loud at the goal that the dogs went mental and hid for an hour!

DARTS SEASON CLIMAX

No game for us tonight, but 2nd place La Baroque play tonight their game in hand at Lamballe. Victory will put them on equal points, but behind on individual games won.
Next Thursday 18th is the title decider at La Baroque in Jurgon les Lacs.
Both teams have qualified for the Champions league in Laval, but the winners of this game will take the divisional cup and pocket a lot more money than for coming 2nd!

GOOD HOMECOOKING

Sometimes (although rarely) you crave a good bit of cooking from home, so the best chef that ever sailed the seven seas produced this fine Cornish Pasty, served with chips and heinz baked beans.
SUPERB!

FOOTBALL GETTING WORSE

Looks like the village football team are heading for their 2nd relegation on the trot after a 6-0 defeat at Henansal.

The weather looks great in the pictures but the pitch was high up and the wind was arctic..
Have not been so cold in Brittany ever!

LOCAL HUNT DINNER

Friday night was the annual dinner of the local hunt, or chasse as it is known here.
We are in no way fans of hunting, but it is regulated over here so that only one wild boar and one deer can be killed in a season.
Having heard the menu beforehand Marie decided to wimp out as nothing appealed to her.
Still, Al bravely soldiered on and attended.

130 attended, to be fair only about a dozen or so are hunters.

Bruno lost the toss to sit next to Sophie!

Menu of Game Soup, Wild Boar Pate, Roast Boar and Venison, followed by Creme Brulee, all wine included, just 15 euros!

EARLY SPRING WINDOW BOX

The early season window boxes are in bloom.
The weather has warmed up quite nicely since the floods of last week.

THE FLOODS

So we got back from the football party at 3am to be met by next door neighbour Yves fully waterproofed up and with a spotlight.
The heavy rain and strong winds coupled with the highest tides for a number of years gave a surge to the stream and ditches that became impossible to cope.
We walked through the water which was up to our knees, but luckily it fell just short of the front door.
Next morning the waters had receded to this level.

The garage took a hit with some 9-10 inches of water.
We will be checking all our garden machinery today to assess the damage.

The waters were still deep on the road.

A large fir tree over the road had also crashed down.

This was taken 12 hours after the main flood.

The stream was now a river.

Arthur didn't know what to make it, so he just stood in it for an hour!

FOOTBALL CLUB FUNCTION

It was the annual football club Jarret Frittes night at the town hall on Saturday.
4 course supper and all you could drink for 12 euros.

The Brit table was as full as ever.

Followed by dancing till 2-30 am.
