So we got back from the football party at 3am to be met by next door neighbour Yves fully waterproofed up and with a spotlight.
The heavy rain and strong winds coupled with the highest tides for a number of years gave a surge to the stream and ditches that became impossible to cope.
We walked through the water which was up to our knees, but luckily it fell just short of the front door.
Next morning the waters had receded to this level.
The garage took a hit with some 9-10 inches of water.
We will be checking all our garden machinery today to assess the damage.
The waters were still deep on the road.
A large fir tree over the road had also crashed down.
This was taken 12 hours after the main flood.
The stream was now a river.
Arthur didn't know what to make it, so he just stood in it for an hour!
