BACK HOME AGAIN

Back to the UK for a long weekend.
Flight from Dinard to East Midlands to
stay with Chrissy and Eamonn for a
couple of days in Leicester.

A few beers and a trip to a very decent
curry house just outside town.

Saturday was up to the Holiday Inn Barnsley to meet
up with others and head out to Spike and Rachel's
25th wedding anniversary in Oxbridge.

Great night with good food, plenty of ale,
and a bit of dancing.

Sunday was back to the Mayston's in Penistone,
for a BBQ and of course more partying.

And finally another night in Leicester, where guess what?
Another curry.

CHICKENS

Most the girls are 3/4 years old now,
so production is dropping off a bit.
The retirement home for infertile chickens is underway.
Well, it's cheaper than IVF!

GARDEN GROWING WELL

Been a very dry period up until this week.
the area has a hosepipe ban already,
so well chuffed with the rain

And it has bought the garden on really well.
Already had some peppery radishes, and some
strong spring onions.

Just got a feeling we are gonna have a lot
of tomatoes and spuds this year.

SUMMER IS NEAR

The dogs love the early morning walk around the
wheat fields.
You see plenty of hares and
the odd deer.

CHATEAU BEAUBOIS

What to do on a Sunday?
Was browsing the internet to find a car boot,
and just 9 miles away, near Borseul,
there was one at this lovely chateau.

The car boot wasn't up to much,
but the grounds around the chateau
were spectacular.

Not to mention a galette sauscisse and
a bar on the go.

VICTORY IN EUROPE DAY

VE day is celebrated in France, and as usual
there was a good local turn out to pay
their respects.
It is to the UK's disgrace that this event
is not marked back home.

TOUR DE ST POTAN

May 8th bank holiday.
Now associated with a local cycle race.

Various age groups raced around different distances,
in an event that lasted all day.

Where there is a crowd, there is a bar.
So a good day was had by all.

NAVY CHEFS REUNION

HMS Forward in Birmingham was the venue
for the 6th Navy Chefs annual reunion.

With the main event on the Saturday, some of us had to turn
up 24 hours earlier to prepare the curry for the 200
old shipmates.

Some of us had not been in a Navy kitchen for 15 years or so,
but managed to get it all together amongst
much laughter.

A great weekend as ever, with £1500 being raised for service charities.
