WINTER IS COMING

It's turned chilly very early here in Brittany.
The oil has been delivered, extra wood is coming Saturday, so we are pretty much set.
The rule of thumb in this house is, the colder it is outside, the more the dogs want to go in and out the house, hence releasing all the heating about 20 times a day.

There are quiet times, and that involves taking up the sofa so no human can have a seat in the warmest room in the house.

Marie's pumpkin carving was an owl this year.
All the flesh made plenty of soup and a pumpkin pie.

So now we come to the quiet time of the year.
There is a Beef Bourguignon night in the village on Saturday 17th to raise funds for the local football team, and that is about it.

We have decided to have Xmas day at the Auberge du Manoir in the village.
Unlike the UK, prices stay the same for the festivities, so it is well worth doing.

OLD VILLAGE PICTURE

I found this old picture of our village taken in the 1920's.
Note on the left a few of the locals staggering out of "Ye Olde Bruno's Bar"

So the camper van crew turned up.
All very predictable for a Saturday party.
From left to right..The team is..
Paul, Me, Jock, Tim Benger, Marie, Moldy, Carol, Bomber.
This photo was taken at midday and all are well.

A few hours later, and the bar has been drained.

That picture is not me, just my older brother!

  1. Jock Rennie. No further comment needed.
  2. Your football team is Shite, and your drinking habits put Hurricane Higgins to shame.

This picture is not blurred, it is down to the photographer.
But we all came back for an acoustic guitar session with Mouldy that would put Queen to shame.

This photo proves I am not drunk or indeed hungry.
It was nearly 4am.
What a great day. great humour, great friends, and if anyone wants to visit when these reprobates return...Get on it!
