BOOMTOWN OF RATS

It's said you are never 5 feet from a rat.

Well, there is nothing like coming back to find

a family of the buggers living close by, and stealing

all the bird food.

Have taken to the sonic pulse remedy, and so far so good.

IN PLUDUNO

Something different in a field not far from us.

These two friendly donkey's caught the eye as

I headed past.

Took them back a couple of carrots to enjoy.

Will be keeping an eye out as we know

how the French treat their animals sometimes.

GARDEN PREPARATION

Whisper it carefully.

4 whole days without rain.

A chance to cut the grass and rotovate the

soil in readiness for planting.

A good chance to let the chickens out

to help with the digging, and of course

a bit of fertilizer always helps.

CAUGHT THE BUGGER

He's eaten his way through the chicken

food bin.

Stolen the fat balls meant for the birds.

Nicked all the walnuts we stored.

Sat outside on the wall and laughed at 

us through the kitchen window.

But now revenge is ours.

Caught and released at a derelict house

some 4 miles away.

SPRING DOG WALK

Our dogs might be aging a bit now, but the walks

show how fit they are.

Bella is 8 this year, Arthur 10, and Shep unknown.

Maybe 9/10ish.

FOGGY AND WET

Sunday 13th March.

The ground is still too wet to rotovate the

vegetable patch, but at least the first

mow of the year has been done on the grass,

The weather is foggy in the mornings, but it soon burns

off, and the past 3 days have been sunny.

Hoping to crack on with all things that

grow next week.

TRIP TO LISBON

Just back from a 4 night stay in a 

surprisingly warm Lisbon.

It was Bob and Lesley's 25 anniversary,

so we met up and stayed at the lovely

5 star Tivoli Hotel.

A good time of year to go, with not so

many tourists.

At least you can get served quickly.

Each day was certainly around 75F,

so obviously plenty of liquids

were needed to survive.

Days were spent in the square by the

Triumph Arc, where there is a good

selection of places to eat and drink.

Good to eat fresh Med seafood again,

some old favourites as well as new.

The flat stuff at the very top of this platter

is sun dried tuna, an experience not to

be missed.
