VISITORS WEEKEND 2

For the UK bank holiday weekend The Lancaster's came over
(Richard, Jane & Sam) along with Vanessa.
Vanessa and Jane I knew from HMS Osprey, and then
along with Richard, we were all on HMS Invincible together
in 1991/2.

Took a trip up to Fort La Latte for a good
look round on a decent morning, then on to
Frehel for lunch on the beach.

ha

Had another day in Dinan down by the port but as
usual forgot to take photos.

Evenings were spent outside in the marquee
playing board games and having a laugh.
Although Jane was obviously tired.

FULL HOUSE WEEKEND

How many visitors?
Bomber, Carole, Tim, Jen, Nick, Pam, Jock, and Janina

It's been hilarious from start to finish.

Meals out, plenty of
alcohol, late nights,
music and even more laughter

The weather was kind to us so we could
go down to the port, and Quatre Vaux beach,
where there is a cosy little beach bar,

It was on that very beach that we discovered
that
Jock Rennie really is the King of Tonga, and above
he is holding court in his private teepee.
The real King is pictured below, a striking resemblance.

Of course the village bar took a battering

ST POTAN PARK AND RIDE

Co worker Bill was lent a replica Bugatti
for the weekend by a rather rich French bloke.
He had to drive the happy couple on their wedding day.

Nothing like posing in the village with it first tho,
and giving out a few rides around the area.

ONE NIGHT IN RENNES

With guests Eamonn, Chrissy, and Geoff, we took
the train down to Rennes for a night out.
Booked a fairly decent Mercure hotel right in the middle of the city,
and headed out to eat and drink.

Just one thing wrong with Rennes at the moment and that
is they are building an underground metro system,
so every corner was a building site.
Pity really, but we will return in 4 years when
it is finished.

Had to take a picture of the two WRENS at Rennes station.

Then Monday at home being Geoff's last night, we
had a bit of a curry feast.
Good times as ever at the Gard Manoir.

NAVY ASSOCIATION IN BORSEUL

Thursday 16th we went to the nearby village
of Borseul for the monthly RNA meet up.

We have guests out for the week.
My old Warrant Officer Caterer from Northwood,
Geoff Stephenson, who now works for the cruise
lines at P&O, plus we have our annual visit
from Chrissy and Eamonn Smith which is always
a fun filled few days.

34 turned up for the BBQ, on a seriously warm afternoon.
Enjoyed by all.

ANOTHER MARIE CAKE

Marie has made another great cake, this time
for our friend up the road Chrissy's birthday.

FIRST LOCAL GIG OF THE SUMMER.

The local hunt sponsored the first event
of the summer at the lake in St Potan.

Bar opened at 12 pronto with the ridiculous
price of 5 euros for a bottle of wine.

As you can see we got there early doors,
but it soon filled up with 200 attending.

4 courses of cold buffet,a roast ham on
the bone with couscous and ratatouille.

The previous nights thunder storms had passed,
and a sultry summer afternoon was much enjoyed.

Then followed by a few games of pallette.
Chucking weighted discs into a box with 5 compartments.

Another fine afternoon in France.
