TOUR DE ST POTAN

May 8th bank holiday.

Now associated with a local cycle race.

Various age groups raced around different distances,

in an event that lasted all day.

Where there is a crowd, there is a bar.

So a good day was had by all.

NAVY CHEFS REUNION

HMS Forward in Birmingham was the venue

for the 6th Navy Chefs annual reunion.

With the main event on the Saturday, some of us had to turn

up 24 hours earlier to prepare the curry for the 200

old shipmates.

Some of us had not been in a Navy kitchen for 15 years or so,

but managed to get it all together amongst

much laughter.

A great weekend as ever, with £1500 being raised for service charities.

BELLA'S 9TH BIRTHDAY

9 years old today.

As much fun as ever.

Ball crazy..

..stick crazy,

food crazy.

Totally crazy.

SHAKING AND BAKING

The last of the winter veg has been lifted.

A batch of leeks.

Turned in to a leek, potato and

4 cheese pie with parmesan crust.

SADLY DEPARTED

Today is the final journey of friend and shipmate

Den Jarrett.

2 great years on HMS Invincible with Den.

Will be remembered with great fondness.

We are both so glad he came out here with Gill and

spent a few days with us last year.

Took a drop of rum down to the village lake,

and toasted his life. RIP. 

FIRST VISITORS GONE

Chrissy and Eamonn have been over for

a fortnight.

A few meals out and a

general relaxing time.

SAINT NAZAIRE

Had a couple of days down in St Nazaire,

with the Royal Navy Association and friends

to pay respects to all those who took part

in "Operation Chariot" in March 1942.

The ceremony was down at the memorial

Tuesday 28th 1130hrs.

Met up with Gary and Des, whilst

Eamon and Chrissy are here for a for

a fortnight.

Wreath laying is part of the stuff our branch

does in France

A great parade carried out by both

French and UK serving forces,

along with veterans.
