PUB QUIZ RUBBISH

You go out for 3 hours to the pub quiz.
You leave 3 dogs in the house.
You leave the rubbish bag in the kitchen.
You know the result.

Missing from the bag.
1/2 a bowl of Raspberry trifle.
1/2 mouldy loaf of bread.
Some soft crisps in a packet,
along with various other delights.

NEW SILKIES

After the sad demise of Rolf the Cock and Silkie last week, we have been quick to get replacements to complete a full coup again.
We have a new pair of Silkies from which we will breed from.
Introducing Fred and Rose.

CHICKEN KILLERS. SO SAD

We found the home of the dog that killed our chickens.
It was just in the next hamlet.
We were not prepared for what we saw.
Dog shit everywhere, the stench was unreal, and they were dehydrated and starving.

We have fed them and given water, but will return tomorrow as we think the owners have just pissed off and left them to fend for themselves.

One of our saddest days in France to find this.
We will alert the right people tomorrow to make sure these beautiful animals have the best chance.

NOT A FOX BUT...

Went up to feed the chickens mid afternoon, and this great dane is stood in the middle of the chicken run chomping away at our little Silkie.
Chased the bugger off, but he also got Rolf the Cock, of which there are no mortal remains bar feathers.
The dog had a collar and belongs to someone.
We have been told to report it to the Mayor, and by French law we can ask for the dog to be destroyed.
Of course we would never do that.
Just want the money for 2 more chickens and assurances that the dog is in a secure area in future.

BACK HOME

Just one thing to organise when we got back and that was to invite a few locals for drinks for the Old Girl's 50th.
Many thanks to Natasha and Sharon for organising the food.

And finally, many thanks to Gaz,Kaz, Neil, and Joan for looking after the dogs and chickens whilst we were away!

BARCELONA

Arrived in Barcelona around 3pm on the 28th to meet up with the Millard's, the day before Marie's 50th.
Checked into the Club Lounge of the Fira Palace, Crowne Plaza, which included free drinks for our stay.

First evening straight out for tapas and vino

Did a bit of tourism, like the Sagrada Familia, which looked like a church that had melted.

Also went down to the port where all the posh boats were,
The weather was strangely warm for the time of year, with not a cloud in the sky for 4 days.

Did a bit of promenading along the port where there were plenty of
places for refreshment!!

Found the Christopher Columbus memorial.

And also found "The Old Fashioned Gin and Tonic Bar" who served the most fantastic cocktails late into the night.

ON OUR WAY TO BARCELONA

The long awaited break away to Barcelona started off with a train ride from Lamballe to Paris.

We then took a coach to Charles de Gaulle airport for a night in
the Novotel fitness and wellness hotel, which was very nice.

We had a meal and a few drinks before bed.
